hello blaise:

welcome to the league.

you might want to come out to the captains' meeting at the
artful dodger on Monday Sept 8 (I believe) ; there'll be much
to learn and many to meet. The first game of the season begins
the following Monday.

cheers

Thanks for asking, Blaise

Yes, we'd welcome a new team. I believe that Mark Brader, who
administers such things, is on vacation. I'm sure you'll get a
proper reply from him when he gets back.

At the moment, we have 18 teams. One is sitting things out for
a while, and another is writing the questions next season,
which leaves us with 16 teams. Your team would make 17, which
presents scheduling challenges. But we can find ways to get
around that.

A team is 5 players, and it doesn't have to be the same 5
players. My own team has a core of 6 regular players (there's
always someone who isn't available to play!), and at least
another 6 who play when we need them.

Our employees love trivia and competing, and I’m wondering if
we might be able to field a team in your league for the fall.
Our head office is at Bay and Bloor so your locations are all
very convenient.

What is the process for fielding a new team? I specifically
interested in what constitutes “a team”. We have a full-time
staff of 10 and then lots of part-time teachers. Is it OK if
our team isn’t the same people every time? I think we’d always
be able to get people out and we could provide a list of the
total pool of people we’d be drawing from. I imagine over time
we’d fine that there was some consistency, but I respect that
this might or might not be in the spirit of the league.

Thanks!

Blaise
